Terror threat to coimbatore airport
Security has been tightened to coimbatore airport after police received a threat call from an unknown caller. The DIG office here received a telephone call around 2 am today, threatening that bombs would explode in airports in Coimbatore , Tiruchirapalli and Madurai by this evening.DIG P Sivanandi said the caller, a man, spoke in broken English. The call had been made from UK, he said. Police and bomb detection and disposal squad personnel along with sniffer dogs checked the entire airport premises. But, no explosive was found till 1 pm, police sources said.
